The project began with a map: a dreamlike interpretation of Egypt, celebrating the extraordinary diversity of its landscapes, flora, traditions and cultures, from Marsa Matrouh to the Red Sea, through the oases, the Delta, Cairo, the Nile and everything in between. Inspired by the maps of childhood, the illustrations create a poetic and playful journey through a world of places, stories and possibilities.

Each chapter is introduced by an illustration inspired by the region, its stories and its particular atmosphere. Drawing from personal memories and travels, these images explore the rich visual language of Egypt, bringing together its landscapes, cultural heritage and everyday life.

For the cover, the project returns to the ancient world: its abundance, symbols and deep connection to the land, the Nile and the gifts of nature. A pharaonic couple sharing fish, poultry, fruits and wine becomes a celebration of food as one of the oldest forms of culture, memory and transmission.
