SETCHU FALL 2025

For the debut runway show of Setchu at Pitti Uomo in Florence, we created two original textiles drawing from classical Japanese culture and erotic folklore.
The first, a sumptuous red and gold damask jacquard, reimagines The Tale of Genji—the 11th-century literary masterpiece—through a playful narrative involving a seductive fisherman, a concubine, and a jealous octopus.
The second, a mischievous black guipure lace, draws on the refined sensuality of Japanese erotic art, subtly echoing phallic forms through entwined octopuses, in homage to artists like Hokusai and Kyosai.
